1870 | Founded in the Imizu District of the Kanazawa Domain (now Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture). |

Autumn 1946 | Established as Kurotani Store, primarily engaged in the sale of non-ferrous metal materials. |
April 1967 | Incorporated as Kurotani Co., Ltd. with capital of 30 million yen from individually owned company. |
November 1985 | Acquired the management participation rights of Shin-Nihon Bijutsu(a company producing and dealing fine arts products and refining/manufacturing/dealing non-ferrous metals with capital 1 million yen). |
January 1986 | Relocated the head office to 5-25 Nishimachi, Takaoka-city, Toyama. Opened the Kosugi office. (closed in August 1993). |
March 1986 | Renamed as Kurotani Corporation. |
October 1986 | Newly built and relocated the headquarters and main factory to 12-2 Nagonoe, Shinminato-city, Toyama Prefecture (now Imizu City). Established Tokyo Branch (now Tokyo Office) and Niigata Branch (now Niigata Office) as business bases. |
April 1992 | Opened Osaka Branch to expand the sales of art and craft products (closed in August 2008). |
March 1993 | Established Technocast Co., Ltd. for the purpose of manufacturing and selling extrusion copper alloy ingots and selling non-ferrous metal raw materials (business content: non-ferrous metal casting processing). |
April 1993 | Acquired all the shares of Art and Craft Co., Ltd. (Establishment purposes: ① Sales of precious metals, gemstones, pearls, coral, etc., ② Sales of products made from the above raw materials, ③ Sales of precious metal-plated or ornamented products and castings. Business content: Sales of art and craft products). |
August 1994 | Acquired all the shares of Shin-Nihon Shoji and Art & Craft. (Establishment purposes: ① Sales of castings and raw materials for castings, ② Sales of real estate, etc. Business content: Sales of non-ferrous products). |
October 1994 | Merged with Technocast Co., Ltd. to expand the facilities of the headquarters factory. |
February 1995 | Merged with Shin-Nihon Shoji and Art & Craft. |
August 2000 | Obtained ISO9001 certification. |
January 2005 | Obtained AQSIQ approval. |
June 2007 | Selected as one of the "Energetic Small and Medium-sized Manufacturing Companies" by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan. |
March 2008 | Obtained ISO14001 certification. |
June 2011 | Listed on the second section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. |
October 2011 | Obtained OHSAS18001 certification. |
July 2012 | Established Kurotani North America Inc. in the state of Oregon, USA. |
June 2014 | The North American subsidiary obtained ISO9001 certification. |
August 2014 | Established a subsidiary, Thai Kurotani Co., Ltd., in Bangkok, Thailand. |
January 2015 | Changed the company name to Kurotani Corporation. |
February 2015 | North American subsidiary obtained AQSIQ license. |
November 2015 | Thai Kurotani obtained ISO9001 certification. |
July 2017 | Obtained approval for the export of goods subject to the Basel Convention regulations. |
August 2017 | Thai Kurotani obtained AQSIQ license. |
July 2018 | Designated as a listed company on the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. |
April 2022 | Transferred to the Tokyo Stock Exchange Standard Market. |
